Q: Why am I not getting emails for my kid's team, rosters, etc? (Registering correctly)
A: We may not have sent any info out yet, and usually you can check our Facebook Group for an announcement. It could also be that your email is not entered correctly, but the most common reason is that you're not registered with GGFSC. The other reason you might not be getting the emails is you have a separate account from the child's primary account holder (see below).
Q: How do I see our game schedules? (Viewing schedules and rosters)
A: First, keep in mind that schedules are usually not released until around the time of the first practices. Otherwise, there are a few ways to do this: One way is to go into the Team Central tab, select your team, then the calendar button. Or go directly to the Team Central Calendar page and filter by your team. You can also go into your account and select the Calendar tab.
Q: I created an account; why I can't see my kid's registration info, roster, or schedules? (Creating a secondary account)
A: You might be using the wrong login (maybe you have a duplicate account). But 90% of the time, the problem is that your child is registered under a different primary account holder. The primary account holder will need to add you as a secondary account holder. To do that, the primary account holder will go click "my account," click the edit account info "gear" icon in the upper right corner, scroll to the bottom, and select "add additional account holder." Add the information requested and click "create additional user and continue." This is great for adding other parents, guardians, grandparents, aunts, uncles, etc who like to get the info. For those with duplicate accounts, see below.
Q: My significant other and I created separate primary accounts and our kids are duplicated on both accounts. Which account do I use to register the kids? (Merging accounts)
A: You'll need to decide which account is going to be the permanent primary account, then contact us at [email protected] with that info. We can then merge your accounts. Be forewarned that merging is permanent! You will then need to have the new, sole primary account holder add any secondary account holders, as described above.
Q: What programs do you offer? Is there anything in the winter?
A: GGFSC offers soccer year-round! Our season starts in August and ends at the end of July.
Here's a list of our programs (subject to change):
| Program Name | Registration opens | Program runs | Ages | Coaches |
| Fall Recreational | Mid July | Early Sep thru mid October | Preschool-6th grade | Parent Volunteers |
| Winter Indoor | Mid October | Mid November thru February | 4-19* | GGFSC Coaches |
| Spring Recreational | Early March | Mid April thru late May | Preschool-6th grade | Parent Volunteers |
| Summer Competitive | Mid October | Early April thru mid July | 8-19* | GGFSC Coaches |
| Fall Competitive | Mid July | Varies. Aug/Sept/Oct | 9-15 | GGFSC Coaches |
| Summer Recreational Camp | Mid April | June | 4-10 | GGFSC Coaches |
*age groups subject to revision based on enrolled numbers. Numeric age groups are based on birth year and end of season (i.e. season ends in 2020, a player born in 2010 is considered 10 years old for that season, or "U10")
Q: Are GGFSC board members paid?
A: GGFSC board members volunteer their time to ensure you have the best experience possible. Per the club bylaws, board members who regularly attend board meetings receive a waiver for one athlete's registration for the Summer Competitive program. The only paid employees of GGFSC are the Rec Coordinator, the Director of Coaching, the Club Administrator, and our coaching staff. We are always looking for new faces on the board!
Q: Is our game/practice canceled?
A: We will alert via our Facebook Group and often by email as well. We generally try to hold off as long as we can when making a cancellation decision, especially when weather is changing or forecast to change. Generally we will cancel if there is lightning in the area or field conditions are poor prior to practice/game time (playing on mud and soft ground causes damage to the field). But we northerners are hearty folk and will play in fairly miserable conditions. Be prepared!
Q: Why don't we don't see any registration options on the program page? (Registration not open)
A1: Registration for your program is probably closed. Please check our program pages for registration deadlines. It's important to have a deadline so we can properly create teams and schedules - there are a LOT of logistics and volunteer time that go into this. We generally do not accept late registrations, however occasionally circumstances allow for this. It's important that you understand that a late registrant, if accepted, must be willing to be placed on whichever team is short of players - even if that means it's at a park all the way across town! And there's a good chance a late registrant may not be accepted at all.
A2: The other possibility is that the program is full, or your child is of the wrong age for the program or division. Occasionally this is because a child's age is entered wrong in your account info, or is outside the expected age range for a grade-specific division. Please check with us if you have a question.
Q: Oh, wait, I do see a registration option when I go into "My Account" Can't I just sign up there?
A: Please don't. We don't have any way to "hide" our other programs from users on the my account page, and those programs might show up even if you are not eligible for that program (due to age or other restrictions). If you don't see a registration option on the program's page that you're looking for, but see one on the "my account page," there's a good chance that the program you see there is the wrong program and registering for that will cause confusion. See the above question (registration not open).
